Library Resource Centre

Since its opening three years ago, the library at BWPS has accumulated a beautiful variety of reading materials for children to borrow and fall in love with.  Titles are selected as a result of requests received by students and staff as well as text which support the Western Australian Curriculum.  From beginner readers to modern Australian Classics, our goal is to acquire quality reading materials for all to enjoy!

In addition, the Library hosts a recess and lunch program where students of all ages can come to relax in a safe, structured environment that encourages creativity, conversation and free play.  Craft, electronic gaming, construction play and casual reading corners decorated with soft furnishings are set up for children to enjoy their free time in.

The library also offers leadership opportunities for students who wish to participate in our Student Librarian program.  Students from Years 5 & 6 volunteer their free time in the library by assisting younger students with games and activities as well as borrowing books using our self-service automated system.

The library at Baynton West Primary is much more than just a place to borrow and exchange books!  It is the heart of our school.
